BAGNC Commemorates 10 Years of Achievement

This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity (BAGNC) and its success in preparing expert gerontological nursing academics and researchers. We are enormously proud of the accomplishments of our alums and the expanding influence of the developing national network of academic gerontological nurse leaders. 

Since its inception in 2000, the program has awarded 199 Predoctoral Scholarships & Postdoctoral Fellowships. BAGNC alums are highly productive and successful.

We are using this year to recognize the achievements of our alumni and current grantees as well as the accomplishments of our collaborative partners, the Centers of Geriatric Nursing Excellence (CGNE).

We have planned a number of different ways to celebrate and commemorate BAGNC’s  first 10 years.

The celebration finale will be the 2010 Leadership Conference in New Orleans, November 17-19th 2010.  The conference will reflect on the past, present and future of academic geriatric nursing and how the field addresses the needs of the country’s elders.
