The John A. Hartford Foundation Awards $1.7 Million in Scholarships to Geriatric Nursing Scholars

The John A. Hartford Foundation Geriatric Nursing Scholarship program selected 17 nurse scholars for the 2001 Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity Scholars Program. These nurse scholars, (10 pre-doctoral and 7 post-doctoral) were chosen in a national competition as part of a new Hartford Foundation initiative aimed at building academic geriatric nursing capacity. Each scholar receives a total of $100,000 ($50,000 per year for two years) to support his or her studies in geriatric nursing.
