Call for Nurse/MBA Applications
The American Academy of Nursing, with support from the John A. Hartford Foundation of New York City, seeks applicants wishing to pursue a business degree at a highly ranked school of business, anticipating a career focus on the management/leadership of institutions serving the elderly. Exceptions to the MBA requirement will be considered to support MHA programs when the course of study is well beyond that required for licensure as a nursing home administrator. The Scholars Program offers grant support of $50,000 to successful candidates who will commence or continue education by July 1, 2006 or no later than September 1st 2006. This $50,000 award may be used over a one or two year period.

Call for Postdoctoral Fellowship Applications
The American Academy of Nursing, with support from the John A. Hartford Foundation and The Atlantic Philanthropies (both headquartered in New York City) is seeking applicants for Postdoctoral Fellowships in gerontological nursing. The Fellowship Program offers grant support up to $60,000 per annum for two years to successful candidates who will commence the fellowship program between July 1st and September 1st 2006.

The Hartford Foundation's overall goal is to increase the nation's capacity to provide effective and affordable care to its rapidly expanding and increasingly diverse older population. Specifically, the Foundation seeks to enhance the training of physicians, nurses, social workers and other health professionals who care for older adults, and promote innovations in the integration and delivery of services. The Atlantic Philanthropies has joined the JAHF in supporting the Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity Postdoctoral Fellow Award Program. This partnership reflects The Atlantic Philanthropies' goal to bring about lasting changes in the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people, which includes the elderly.

The Mayday Fund provides an additional $5,000 award to selected candidates whose research includes the study of pain in the elderly.

Call for Predoctoral Scholarship Applications
The American Academy of Nursing, with support from the John A. Hartford Foundation of New York City, is seeking applicants for Predoctoral Scholarships in gerontological nursing. The Scholars Program offers grant support up to $50,000 per annum for two years to successful Predoctoral candidates who will commence or continue education beginning July 1st 2006 or no later than September 1st 2006.
